30,000 expected to attend The San Marcos Harvest Festival October 9th!

The San Marcos of Commerce, in partnership with the City of San Marcos, will present the San Marcos Harvest Festival in San Marcos on Sunday, October 9th. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Via Vera Cruz between Grand Ave. and San Marcos Blvd. in San Marcos, and is expected to draw 250 vendors and 30,000 attendees. This year's Harvest Festival theme harkens back to a simpler time when farms, orchards and dairies populated the valley that is now San Marcos. Representations of those times will be displayed in the Beer Garden courtesy of the San Marcos Historical Society.

Other event highlights include a champagne breakfast hosted by the San Marcos Lion's Club,a live music stage in the beer garden with local brews from Stone Brewery, the San Marcos Brewery and Markstein Beverages. A Classic Car show and carnival rides will be available for children along with food and craft vendors. Enhancing the already popular festival, the entertainment brings a variety of music for everyone's tastes. Tinku will bring native Peruvian music along with other folk music of South America to the Beergarden Stage followed by local indie rock band Inspired & the SleepClosing out the entertainment on Sunday will be San Diego favorites, The Back Water Blues Band with their authentic rock, funk, originals and classic rock. . Title sponsors for this community event is the Grand Plaza Center and the Nordahl Marketplace. Other sponsors include the City of San Marcos, EDCO Waste and Recycling, WalMart, and Markstein Beverage Company.
